This run features all of Athens’ most celebrated monuments such as the Acropolis, the tunnel of Attalos and the monument of Hephaestus. We also pass by many Roman monuments which allow us to get a feel for the changes that happened between the Ancient Greek and the Roman periods. Once a year the peaceful Greek town Galaxidi throws a party like nowhere else in Greece, it's a chance to get wild, have fun and make a lot of mess!
You will be provided with everything you need to take part in the fun and with your transport being provided from central Athens, tickets for drinks and snacks as well as access to our secret bar.

Once a year on March 11th the sleepy town of Galaxidi, tucked away on the shores of the Gulf of Corinth, goes wild with flour and coloured powders to celebrate Apokries; the day that marks the final day before the start of lent.
For 260 years the residents of Galaxidi have thrown this amazing party where having fun, making some mess and just letting go is the most important activity of the day.
While the festival itself is well-known in Greece it's still something that visitors to the country haven't yet experienced: Until now!
Leaving Athens early at 7am the bus winds along the roads towards Mount Parnassus in Central Greece, past historical Delphi and one of the largest olive groves in the world down to beautiful Galaxidi, an 18th Century shipping town that was almost forgotten until the 1950's when a road was finally constructed, connecting it with the rest of Greece by something other than a boat.
The trip is around 2.5hrs long with a comfort stop midway.
On arrival in Galaxidi everyone will be presented with their supplies that includes:
- Boiler suit
- Safety goggles
- Mouth and nose mask
- 1kg of plain flour
- Drink and snack tokens to use at our secret bar
After a brief orientation of Galaxidi with your Greek Kitchen Host where you will be taken to some amazing photo stops to take in the views you will be led to the Flour War start-point where there is more flour available and the town mayor who will give a speech and launch the party!
Feel free to go wild! There is music, bonfires, heaps of flour and coloured powder flying through the air and you can get right into it!
If you want to take a break there is an area of the harbour where those who want to watch congregate at the two lovely cafes.
The Greek Kitchen Bar will be open throughout the day where you can use your drink and snack tokens and also purchase extras for incredibly low prices.
As the party winds down there will be time to get cleaned up, enjoy the town or take a walk along the coast. If you fancy it you could even take a swim in the blue-flagged waters that surround the town.
The transfer back in the evening will have you in Athens in time for an evening meal and a night out too.
